Written Directions

Coming south to the MS Gulf Coast? This is a real nice ride through some very nice scenery. From Wiggins MS take MS Highway 26 east about 15 miles (a good ride in itself) then pick up MS 15 south. This will run for about 30 miles or so until you hit MS 67 for the final few miles to the coast at Biloxi. Road is in great condition, and has some nice curves and straights.

Scenery

This route travels through some nice rural farm lands. Traffic is lite and the road condition is very good. The following was added by N5TF in June of 2016: "Beautiful Pine Forests line the road as you travel through the Desoto National Forest over many creeks, the largest being Red and Black creeks. Antique steel bridge and side road to boat ramp on HWY 57 south allows a scenery stop to enjoy the beauty of Black Creek. Very rural with the pungent smell of pine throughout."

Drive Enjoyment

A good mix of curves and straights. Well maintained. The following was added by N5TF in June of 2016: "New payment in portions, road is in excellent condition with hills, and curved sections on upper ends of both Hwy 15 and Hwy 57."

Tourism Opportunities

No amenities or fuel stops on this route; it is pure country side. The following was added by N5TF in June of 2016: "Gas and food available at intersection of Hwy 26 and Hwy 15, at the Benndale Grocery - approximately half way through ride."

Motorcycle Road Additional info

The following was added by N5TF in June of 2016: "A great weekend 3 hour ride with many opportunities to stop and enjoy Desoto National Forest. Low Traffic except in Vancleave. Fall Time provides hardwood color changes mixed with beautiful Southern Pines as contrast. This route is a must do for Coast Residents."

This route is one of my favorites and when i want to clear my head, i simply hit HWY 15 North through DESOTO NATIONAL FOREST. Tall pines, solitude, low traffic and the smell of pine forests. In the fall, hardwoods add to the scenery. Many well maintained National Forest roads for side trips throughout the forest. There is a gas stop near lamey bridge road in Harrison County, MS.

Made this run on the 9th of Nov. The air was cool and the scenery was great. I live on the coast and am a little biased but this is a fin road and is well maintained.
