Scenery

This route covers the western portion of Charles County that remains very rural. Great back roads and views of the Potomac River. Some twisties are not for beginner riders.

Drive Enjoyment

Great curves but since the area is very rural many roads are paved but surfaces can be rough and/or contain gravel.

Tourism Opportunities

Scenery includes St Ignatius Church erected in 1641 its the oldest continuously serving Catholic Parish in the US. The church sits upon a hill giving breath taking views of the Potomac River. The route also passes through Chapel Point state Park and Smallwood State park. Both rich in history. Gas stations are rare once on the route be sure to start out on a full tank and bring your camera!

Great route. The chapel with the cemetery is a nice spot to stop and look around. A lot of sections of road look like they have been paved recently so I didn't really have an problems with potholes. There are a couple of gas stations along the route, one is on the route around the Marbury area, and a few miles past that, there's another nicer one about a mile off the route. Definitely recommend!

Short but beautiful ride with mostly straight roads. Probably something I will do again

decent back roads, but only glimpses of the Potomac - probably better in the fall when the trees thin out
