Written Directions

Route travels through Southwestern Kansas City, KS *Start*: Nieman Rd/Johnson Drive (Facing North) After 3.5mi / 6min: Turn left (East) on Holiday Dr. After 3.5mi / 7min: Turn left (South) on Quivira Ln. After 2.6mi / 5min: Turn right (East) on Johnson Dr. After 4.8mi / 8min: Turn right (North) on Woodland Dr. After 1mi / 2min: Turn right (West) on W 47th St. (turns into Wilder Rd.) (turns into Holiday Dr.) You will complete a loop after you pass Quivira Ln on the right.

Scenery

I am providing this route as an option for those with bikes in the city, that are looking for a 45 minute outing that doesn't require 30 minutes of travel just to find windy roads. The First 3.5 Miles will be a transition from City to Country, as you go from businesses to parks, trees, and fields. The following 2 Miles will wind you into more of a nature-y area, ultimately down a windy road of nothing but trees (4 star visual when sun is beaming through the trees) The rest of the ride will be a mix of outer City and Country until you return the windy road with trees, going the opposite direction. The last stretch will be a transition from outer city/country, back to the city.

Drive Enjoyment

The actual quality road upkeep is normal - nothing is brand new but potholes, rocks, and debris will be of no concern. The quality of road in terms of the ride should be fairly good. This is the curviest of the roads this close to the city, with a decent surrounding area that can give an "escape of the city" feeling.

Tourism Opportunities

Along the way there are few times where you will pass such amenities, but you are always within 8-10 minutes of the city, providing plenty of options.

Motorcycle Road Additional info

I am providing this route as an option for those with bikes in the city, that are looking for a 45 minute outing that doesn't require 30 minutes of travel just to find windy roads. The main feature of this route is getting off of Nieman Rd., and traveling that next handful of miles. The road that winds downhill, with towering trees on each side, is best to engine break down and enjoy this kind of road so close to the city. *Addition to the additional*: This route is for ALL bike types.

Thanks for posting this one. Growing up in the area, I rode Holiday Drive countless times in my teens and early twenties.

Hadn't been down there in years until I saw this post. Road was in great condition. Enjoyed the ride and the nostalgia.
