Written Directions

Coming from interstate 20 heading east from Birmingham Ala, take the Leeds exit. You will see at the stop to your right the sign for the motorsport museum which is about a mile in that direction. If you go straight ahead past the chevron station at the stop, you will go through the town of leeds and about 3 miles through town you will see hwy 25 south sign to your right. hold on and enjoy about a 9 mile thrill ride ending at 29 dreams motorcycle resort right on hwy 25, have fun .

Scenery

On this route you will find several homes and plenty of wooded areas ... very dense in some areas. Overall a nice scenic drive.

Drive Enjoyment

The road is nicely paved and marked and has numerous switchbacks and horseshoe curves, nice up and down hill grades with straight-aways to enjoy. If you have ever heard of "The Dragon" (AKA Deal's Gap) in Carolina this my friends is the mini dragon, without having to go all the way to Carolina. What a blast my girlfriend and I had in the curves and swithbacks. I scraped the pegs several times with the enjoyment of hitting the straight away running it through the gears, just in time to break it down to lay into another curve what a blast!

Tourism Opportunities

Upon getting to the Leeds exit from interstate 20 two miles ahead is the motorsport museum with the greatest collection of motorcycles you have ever seen. Five floors of bikes and several dozen race cars inside. Go through leeds about 3 miles until you see the 25 south sign and ride the mini dragon to 29 Dreams Motorcycle Resort, a great place to visit and hang out, food, cabins and lots of bikers.

First off , 29 Dreams has been purchased by new owners and renamed Courtyard 25 . It is a decent oyster bar and grill and the entrance has now been paved in concrete . 2nd , I would not compare this to the Dragon as there are side roads and driveways every few yards along this route , it is a nice scenic ride nontheless. 3rd ,keep going past where the map ends as there are numerous other routes that are just as nice along this road . Keep going until just before Vincent and take a short "Y" across 231 over to Hwy 60 and that is a nice curvy road that will carry you over the Dam and into Childersburg (The oldest city in America and one of the best caverns also)

29 Dreams is closed. If you continue on to Hwy 231. Go right and take it to Columbiana. Take Hwy 26 to County Road 331(or Fire Tower Rd.). It really makes for a great ride. 331 turns into County Road 39 and will take you back to Hwy 280 at Chelsea, Fire Tower Road is one of the best rides in the state. Lots of switch backs, elevation changes and beautiful scenery. Hooking the two together makes for a great ride. You can start out on Hwy 119 at Hwy 280 and end up back at Hwy. 280 just down the road in Chelsea.

Good point. I usually hop on from Mountain Brook Parkway (off of Lakeshore) and wind down Grant's Mill Road crossing I-459 down to AL HWY 119, then hop on HWY 25. I ride almost to Harpersville and turn around and enjoy the return trip. It's about 80 miles roundtrip from my house and takes an hour and a half to two hours. Awesome trip.
