Title: Waller to Carlos Run
State: Texas

Submitted By: Fritzcoinc

Date Submitted: May 06

Motorcycle Type: 96 Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport

Motorcycle Road Length: 60 Miles

Motorcycle Road Scenery:
Quite country side and ranch land. In stark comparison to the hustle and bustle of near by Houston.

Motorcycle Road Quality:
Very good two lane black top … hilly with plenty of curves and rolling hills. This road has most everything you want, tight turns, sweepers, narrow bridges, tunnel like woods, hills and oh yes the Texas Dept. of Public Safety hiding in the weeds.

Motorcycle Roadside Amenities:
Plenty of fuel and eats along the way.

Directions:

Note: These directions are pretty detailed ... just print them out and take them with you. Start on by taking 290 west out of Houston. Turn right on 362 in Waller, TX. Some great sweeping curves and hills begin just before 1488 where you turn right. After a few more curves turn left back on to 362. This is a great road with curves, hills, woods, and wide open spaces. A little bumpy as you get close to 105 where you turn left. At Hwy 6 north turn right and be careful as the feeder roads are two way! Exit 3090 just north of Navasota. CAUTION, first timmers need to hold it to 55 MPH max. I have run this road on a Harley soft tail at 55/60 and although I drug the running boards in most of the turns all went well. 3090 runs north to 149 where you will turn left. After more of the same on 149 you will turn left on 244 for more of this great ride north to HWY 30. On the other side of 30 is Yankee Tavern. Don't miss it!

Special notes: Caution! 3090 is very slick when hot in the summer. Take it slow until you know this road.

149 stops at 3090, so you're still on 3090 after you take that left at 149. A great twisty road, but beware decreasing-radius turns.
