Title:  "Tennessee 13"
State: Tennessee

Submitted By: Anonymous

Date Submitted: Sep 04

Motorcycle Type: 97 Harley Ultraglide

Motorcycle Road Length: 45 Miles

Submitter: "It is as thrilling as a roll-a-coster"

Motorcycle Road Scenery:
On this road you will see typical middle Tennessee scenery with pine groves and farmlands, hills and dales, big hills and beautiful valleys. But you will mostly enjoy the ride with switchbacks, corkscrew turns and exciting ups and downs in elevation.

Motorcycle Road Quality:

The road quality is simply fantastic! In the summer of 2004 the roads were in great shape, no new pavement, no potholes, no severe pavement cracks and good wide lanes with good lane markings. The long uphill grades have a second truck lane. Nothing but nice scenery and a great ride. sharp left and right turns, gradual up and down hill grades, a couple of hairpins and a couple of chances to scrape your pegs. You are only a few miles from the Tennessee River to the west and the Natchez Trace is near the end of this road.

Motorcycle Roadside Amenities:
This route's specialty is the road's twists and turns ... not its "Roadside Amenities."

Directions:
Look for Tennessee 13 just off of I-40, about half way between Nashville and Jackson Tennesse. Start your route off of I-40 on TN 13 and take it south as it runs through the town of Lobelville (just south of I-40 at the Lobelville/Linden exit). As you head south, there is great riding immediately, but the real fun begins south of Linden, TN. Go all the way to Collinwood and catch the Natchez Trace.

I road Hwy 13 from Colinwood all the way north to Clarksville. It's a great ride. You get way up there in elevation. But, very few places to stop. And if you run off the road, you're dead. STEEP drops off the road. Lots of curves.
