Title: Old Port Gibson Road
State: Mississippi

Submitted by: Kris

Date Submitted: Apr 07

Motorcycle type: Ninja ZX-10R

Estimated Length: 110 Miles

Scenery:
This route offers lots of trees like the Natchez trace but not much on scenery … its one of those roads you take for the thrill of the ride & road.
Road Quality:
First legs is straights and long curves, 2nd and 3rd leg is lots of twisties and hard turns but the road is nicely paved ... great conditions to ride on any bike!!

Roadside Amenities:
This is just a back road with curves in it one lil mom and pop store and that is about it other than farmlands and hunting grounds.

Directions:

Written directions:

Start in Raymond MS and head south on Old Hwy 18 and turn right on Old Port Gibson Road (if you run into new Hwy 18 then you just missed the turn for Old Port Gibson Road). Take Old Port Gibson Road all the way till you run into hwy 61 (the routes end point). From there you can take a left and go about 1 mile and you'll be in Port Gibson or turn right and head up to Vicksburg.

I was on my way from Jackson Ms to Orange Tx so I travel this ride.
I was rading a 2006 Aprilia 250 Scooter. I did enjoy the road.
No disagrement with original comments.
I did not know the road condition and with the folage I could only see the start of the curves so I had to use cuation on the ride.
Overall a good ride and well worth the deture.

Really nice ride for foilage and senery but slow turns and slow speed, lots of our bretheren with badges. Good for thosewho just want to ease along but not a sporting, curvy, rush, even on my goldwing. Rode it 15 MAR 08 but wanted so much more.
