Utah Motorcycle Roads and Trips

Incredible motorcycle roads can be found in each of the three scenery regions of Utah (UT): the Rocky Mountain region, the Great Basin, and the Colorado Plateau. The Rocky Mountain region is found mostly in northern and northeastern Utah. The Great Basin is found in the western third of the state and features arid sparsely populated areas with small mountain ranges and rugged terrain. The Colorado Plateau is found in the eastern and southern two-thirds of Utah. In this area motorcycle rides will wind through buttes, mesas, and deep river canyons. Roadside-amenities in some of these areas can be sparse so make sure you have a plan for where to get gas, eat, and stay the night.

Note: the motorcycle rides below have been divided into two general regions:
          - Northern Utah (anything north of Provo)
          - Southern Utah (anything south of Provo)

Northern Utah Motorcycle Rides

Heber to Hannah & the Wolf Creek Pass
Loop (Apr 07)

… scenery is gorgeous from the time you leave Heber City - beautiful canyons and evergreen forests as you ride towards Strawberry … my favorite is Hanna's Kitchen - a great spot to stop for breakfast with huge portions and the fresh pies are fantastic … easy to find as there will be lots of other bikes in the parking lot!

Utah's Route 95 (to the Natural Bridges

"This area is a "MUST SEE"/"MUST RIDE" AREA!!! May regret giving my opinion, as I/We plan to return to this area from Rhode Island!" ... "Keep a camera hanging from your neck while riding...USE IT..you'll want to remember this ride "FOREVER"!!"

Mexican Hat to Bryce Canyon (Jul 07)

"We made this trip in late April and May and it is one of the best trips we have ever made. Fall would also be a great time. Make reservations near Bryce and Torrey and in Mexican Hat. All get busy and Torrey and Mexican Hat have limited places to stay. No worries about fuel on this route."

Moab, UT to Nucla, CO (Apr 05)

… road offers great views of the La Sals, big valleys, farm country, and desert - all on one road … look for significant twisties in the middle and long straights deeper in Colorado ... road sneaks up on you because the first few miles are extremely mundane - don't be deceived - the middle section is losing tons of elevation and following the path of the river through the La Sals

Utah SR 128 - "The Canyons of the Colorado
River" (Dec 04)

"Took this trip July 2003. Ten days with temp of 85 to 105 degrees. This is a great road to relax on. Stop at pull outs and take a refreshing swim in the Colorado River to cool off. Too many roads so little time, but I'll remember this one forever."

… declared by the government’s to be one of the country’s few official DOT Scenic Byways … travel through canyons, aspen groves and pine forests … geat route in the fall as the Aspens and Maples change colors … road is a blast in terms of its motorcycle-road-quality
