Motorcycle Road Scenery:

This route takes you for a great ride right along the shores of Keuka Lake. The scenery along Keuka Lake is one of the best views of wine country in the State.

Motorcycle Road Quality:

Very nice road lots of turns, and up & downs curves. Speed is slow for an enjoyable ride.

Motorcycle Roadside Amenities:

There are a lot of nice restaurants along this side of the lake . Boat rentals are available for fishing, skiing or just having fun for a day on the lake.

Written directions:

Start your route in Hammsport, NY (about 65 miles south of Rochester) and simply take 54A north for about 15 miles as it hugs the lake and takes you up to route's end point of Branchport, NY. Note: if you like that then you can continue around the lake by staying on 54A as it takes you into Penn Yan, NY and then you want to take a right on to 54 and head south along the other side of the lake all the way back down to Hammsport, NY.

We happened upon this road while riding around the Finger Lakes region. This route turned out to be one of our favorites. It has great turns, dips and rises following the contour of the shore. There are a lot of cabins/residences on both sides of the road, though, which forced us to keep the speed down. I'd love to try this road when the people go home!
You must stop at the Glenn Curtiss Museum just south of Hammondsport on 54. An aviation and motorcycling pioneer.

There are many beautiful rides in this area. A good option is take a ride along either side of Kueka Lake. Find your way to Branchport. Take the Italy Valley road west to Naples. Naples is a great place to get off the bike for a while. You can get anything from a slice of pizza to a nice dinner there. Then try Rt. 53 south through Prattsburgh and back to Rt. 390 in Kanona.
