Kansas Motorcycle Trips and Events List

In the age of dinosaurs, Kansas (KS), was the home of an immense inland sea that now serves as the state's limestone surface and filled with fossils. Due to it's ancient geological history, the state's topography is mostly comprised of flat expanses interrupted by smaller sections of rolling hills and covered by prairie grasses. As you move from east to west, the climate becomes more dry and windswept. The Flint Hills area is the most notable scenic area within the Sunflower State.

Ride for the Dogs

The Caring Hands Ride for the Dogs is in September again… This year on the 17th. Please mark this on your calendar. Last year, we had 145 riders, gave away some impressive prizes, including trips, jewelry, activities, dinners, a shotgun. But the best thing is that we raised money to help the dogs while offering a fun event with perfect weather. We are going to be looking at reworking some things this year to accommodate the larger group we seem to attract. Please come out this time. And, we thank you for your support. Ride for the Dogs Ride for the Dogs, an annual Poker Run and Party, is Caring Hands Humane Society’s signature fundraising event. It was created to generate revenue for the dogs and puppies that Caring Hands cares for. In the past five years the event has grown from 25 to almost 150 participants and public awareness has increased. In 2016 we are preparing for over 200 participants. The event has expanded and will continue with increased support from the rider community, volunteers and corporate sponsors. Benefits of Sponsorship 2015’s ride raised almost $6000. That is the equivalent of being able to vaccinate, spay or neuter and provide parasite control for 60 dogs. Our goal for 2016 is $10,000 or 100 dogs medically treated. A large portion of the sponsorship revenue will go toward that goal. An added beneft to sponsorship is a large amount of visibility in Harvey and Sedgwick county. Wichita television and radio partners will help increase presence. Last year, we were guests on the Brett & Sierra Show, 104.5 Radio morning show, KHCW morning show and KWCH news. Attending bike nights, car shows and rallies, promoting, will also aid in visibility and recruitment. The expected growth of the event and high visibility targeted marketing gives a great value to sponsorship. Caring Hands Humane Society Caring Hands Humane Society is a not for profit, private organization dedicated to helping companion animals and the people who love them. Caring Hands’ mission, “through the promotion of education in basic humane animal care, is to relieve animal suffering and to prevent cruelty to animals”. Caring Hands believes all animals deserve to be treated with dignity and respect during all stages of life. Striving to provide the best possible care to the animals entrusted to us and to educate others about the benefits of strengthening the bond between humans and companion animals. This mission is made possible by your involvement.
