Road Scenery:
|

This
road runs through some of the most serene & beautiful southwest
Iowa farmland.

Road Quality:
|
|
Most
of this route is well maintained pavement, even though the
original road was brick highway (Old Lincoln Highway). Lost
of turns & hills, and plenty of straight-away for winding
your bike up. Great for road racers and cruisers. Very popular
with the local bikers.

Roadside Amenities:
|
|
Starting
north from Council Bluffs, there are several small town
with excellent restaurants, bars & cafes. My favorite being
Crescent, IA's Pink Poodle for their prime rib!

The
starting point is in Council
Bluffs, IA (just accross the river/border from Omaha,
NE). Start on north Broadway and you'll find signs for highway
183 and take that north towards Crescent, IA. Take 183 through
Crescent and on to Missouri Valley and continue for another
10 miles or so on to Magnolia.
