We welcome all bikes and are encouraged to ride regardless of origin. With being part of California's Corrections and Rehabilitation, I encourage all Peace officers and veterans to join as well. So come on out, ride, cruise and be apart of a the family. Hopefully we'll gain enough members, were we can host BBQs, Poker events, Fund Raisers. All Bikes Welcome Open to all ages. This is not a club. Great Way to Meet New People So go ahead and Introduce yourself by leaving a post, or just come out on a ride. We try to schedule rides just about every weekend, so there should be plenty of different types of rides to choose from. Also suggestions are always welcome. Youll find a lot of different types of motorcycles in our club, and riders with different experience and skill levels, but we all share a similar passion, to get out on our bikes and explore the country. If you havent checked out the entire Meetup Site yet and spend some time browsing the site. Were not a club, so there's no monthly dues, or fees, Were just simply here to all enjoy getting together and ride. Hope to see you on a ride soon. Trev

What is ROMPS? We are a riders group based out of and sponsored by Merced Power Sports, in Merced CA. Our emphasis is on safe riding, and supporting our local Merced County community. We do not consider this to be a motorcycle club, it is a group of riders who enjoy the safety and camaraderie of riding together with others. All area riders are welcome to join in on the group’s activities, regardless of any club associations, or brand of motorcycle. We will have day rides, dinner rides, poker runs and fund raising events throughout the year. Everyone is welcome to bring your friends and your whole family along for all of our activities, as we aim to maintain a safe and family friendly environment, for all rides and events. Who is running this group? You are! We aim to keep the group management and ride/event planning driven by the ideas and talents of each of our riders, rather than assigned “officers”, and make sure everyone has an equal voice. We want to keep this group fun and accommodating, and stay away from any “charter” or long set of rules written in stone. We will just follow the golden rules of: ride safely, act responsibly, and enjoy each other’s company! At our monthly gatherings, everyone will be encouraged to lead a discussion, as different subjects or projects arise. All of our rides will be led by an assigned Road Captain, but this duty will rotate around with different people leading the way each time, so as to give each experienced rider a chance to lead the group somewhere we haven’t been before!

Mother's Kitchen

This place is located on one of my favorite motorcycle routes' in the world - The Palamor Mountain Loop. On the weekend's the parking lot is loaded with bikes and riders shooting the breaze with a continual stream of riders coming in and going out. The food is good and the atmosphere is better. From the Mother's Kitchen website: Mother's Kitchen would love to see you next time you stop by Palomar Mountain. We have a wide variety of vegetarian dishes for everyone. People come from all over the world for our famous homemade chili. Or perhaps you would like to try our delicious homemade lasagna. If you would like to fulfull that sweet tooth we have a whole bakery case just waiting for you. A shake or smoothie might just hit the spot as well. Feel free to take a look at our menu, I'm sure somehting will entice you to pay us a visit. Mother's Kitchen is located at the summit of Palomar Montain.

The Rock Store

This may be the most famous motorcycle hangouts in California. It will be LAODED with bikes on the weekends and is a frequent stop of hollywood & other LA area celeberaties. It is restaraunt that was restored from a decades-gone-by gas station & general store. And it is right at the door step of some great motorcycle roads in that area. Quite a combo. If you are riding your motorcycle in the LA area, you need to plan a weekend stop at the Rock Store.

Jalama Beach County Park

I discovered this quite little beach park a few years ago on a trip to California. It is small, off the beaten path, and not even known very well by the locals so I ventured out to it really because it looked like it was buried far away and I was hoping to find a little gem of a place. I'm so glad I did as the setting out there is like something out of a movie ... wide open, undeveloped coastline next to the deep blue Pacific. The park is small but it has a camping area and a nice little restaurant and store. This is my kind of beach setting. So if you are looking for a quite, tucked away, "yester-year" beach experience, then take the beautiful winding drive out to Jalama Beach - you'll love it!!

The Lookout Roadhouse

A cool little hangout & restaurant for riders perched up on the side of a hill offering great views of Lake Elsinore. It's also at one end of a the great a motorcycle road called the Ortega Hwy. On the weekends the Roadhouse has a steady stream of riders coming and going and dispute the fact that the place is built on a steep hill, they have a pretty good size parking lot to hold all the bikes. See you there!

The Robin's Nest Bed & Breakfast

From the official motorcycle place website: "Surrounded by breathtaking countryside and well maintained, low traffic roads, this 1.3 acre property is ideal for motorcycles of every make and model. A large off-road parking area keeps bikes secure and out of sight. Workshop has plenty of towels & tools for repair & maintenence. Available vehicle and/or trailer with plenty of tie-downs for when "heaven forbid" someone has a breakdown. Property contains a 160 sq.ft. outdoor cook center, where you may prepare and cook food you ordered when you booked. Ordered beverages chilled and available on arrival. Dine on our 400 sq.ft. redwood deck and watch a concert or movie on our outdoor 120 inch surround sound theatre. Play badminton, croquet, horseshoes, bolo-toss, tour the gardens, or simply pick one of several secluded areas to kick back and relax. At the end of a long ride, soak your muscles in our private and secluded 500 gallon hot-spa (accomodates 6 to 8 persons). Indoors: view a pictorial history of the Inn, play chess, bacgammon, board games, or select from a diverse library of books while sampling complimentary treats and beverages. Wake up to coffee, juice and a gourmet 4 course breakfast guaranteed to make you order a light lunch or skip it altogether."

Serenity Gardens Bed and Breakfast

From the official motorcycle place website: "Serenity Gardens Bed and Breakfast opened for business in 2005. We have two rooms with comfortable beds and private baths. Included in the room price is a hearty country breakfast complete with dishes made of freshly laid eggs from our resident hens. We feature satellite television, high speed wireless internet, laundry facilities, private guest gardens, and complementary soft drinks and snacks. A separate secure area is available for parking motorcycles. Two friendly dogs and eight hens are on the premises."

Hells Kitchen Motorsports Restaurant

From the official motorcycle place website: "Hells Kitchen is a motorsports restaurant located at 32685 Ortega Hwy in Lake Elsinore. We opened our doors and tapped our kegs on January 31st 2004. Up in the hills and trees of Ortega, Hells is located in Riverside County and outside of Orange County, it's a short ride from San Diego and San Bernardino Counties and not too far from Los Angeles County. The restaurant features indoor/outdoor dining, big screen tv (to watch the races on), a coffin condiment bar, 2 pool tables, beer, wine, starbucks coffee, hellish decor and Americana style food. Our hours are Monday thru Thursday 10am-7pm, Friday 10am-8pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am-8pm."

Newcombs Ranch

From the official motorcycle place website: "We are a unique destination in the Angeles National Forest that is just 4-5 minutes away from Downtown LA. It is a serene restaurant/bar that is an oasis for motor enthusiasts, nature lovers and people that seek to escape the high pace of the city life"

Cooks Corner

From the official motorcycle place website: "Cook's Corner is considered to be one of the most famous biker bars in Southern California. It is located at the juncture of Santiago Canyon and Live Oak Canyon roads. Cook's Corner was named after Andrew Jackson Cook, who got about 190 acres of Aliso Canyon in a land trade in 1884. In 1926, his son, Earl Jack "E.J." Cook converted a cabin into a restaurant for miners and local ranchers. After Prohibition ended in 1933, alcohol began being sold, and Cook's Corner became a full-fledged bar. In 1946, Cook brought an old mess half from the Santa Ana Army Air Base and the tavern was born. In 1970, a Santa Ana motorcycle accessories owner purchased it and Cooks Corner was molded into what it represents today... and old-fashioned roadhouse. Cook's (as it is normally referred) is still as rugged-looking as a World War II-era-mess-hall-turned-biker-bar should look."

Rock Store

From the official motorcycle place website: "The Rock Store is one of the most famous motorcyclist and biker hangouts in the world. Frequented by moto lovers as well as celebrities and nice people of all types, the Rock Store is an amazing place to get away from the city without going too far. Located along famous Mulholland Highway halfway between Malibu and Calabasas, it's the perfect place to come by bike or by car for breakfast or lunch and a drink on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. Check our Events page for nights we stay open late and other times that we feature live music. "

Solvang Motorcycle Museum

From the official motorcycle place website: "The motorcycles in the museum are from the private collection of Virgil Elings. He has been collecting motorcycles for 2 decades. The collection is quite broad with something for everyone, ranging from a 1910 FN to the present, and across all makes. The emphasis is tilted toward racing motorcycles since Virgil and his son Jeff were involved in vintage motorcycle racing, both motocross and road racing. The Solvang Vintage Motorcycle Museum is an easy day ride out of Los Angeles, through the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley. The museum is located in the former Solvang Designer Outlet Center now owned by Dr. Elings. You can find us in the former Brooks Brothers store (maple floor and all). The museum rotates some of the bikes each month so that the bikes on display are constantly changing and expanding."

Sopiago Springs Resort

From the official motorcycle place website: "Sopiago Springs Resort is a family oriented private campground. Although we allow non-motorcyclists to enjoy our camping amenities, Sopiago exists primarily for motorcycle camping, and motorcycle activities. Private parties can rent the Sopiago Venue for other types of events, as long as they are "appropriate" for the facility. This includes being respectful of the pristine nature of Sopiago, which is getting harder and harder to find, due to large parcels of land being sub-divided for intense profits. Also, camping at Sopiago is unique because we basically own an entire forested valley which has been tiered into unique camping and riding areas. Considering that it is a valley, we have many level ares for camping and any kind of fun event. Due to Sopiago being primarily for motorcyclists, we charge for camping based upon the individual. Most campgrounds charge per campsite instead, due their large volume of car and RV campers. Since this pricing structue would be unfair to the lone rider, or a rider with a passenger, we charge per person. Kids (3-9 years old) are charged at half the normal cost. We have camping space for tents, "Toy Haulers", and any big rig you can legally drive on the road. Our entire facility is 150 acres, so we have plenty of room for whatever you bring. So bring it on!"

The Riverwood Inn

From the official motorcycle place website: "The Riverwood Inn has a full bar, rooms, and the best Mexican food in the world; plus live music on most Friday and Saturday nights! The Riverwood Inn was built in 1937 and is the last of the old roadhouses that populated the Avenue of the Giants which also used to be Highway 101. During the floods of 1964, the Eel River washed away most of the small towns along the Avenue but the river only came up to the back door of the Riverwood, sparing this beautiful building. The building creaks and groans and we do have a documented ghost, however, he mostly restricts himself to the bar hallway and the upstairs banquet room. During the summer months, the Riverwood Inn is a favorite stop for motorcycle and car clubs that travel the stunning Avenue of the Giants. Many groups call ahead and make special preparations for large lunch and dinner groups or room reservations. AMERICAN LEGION RIDERS CHAPTER 208

American Legion Riders is an enjoyable post activity now a commission of the Department of California for Legionnaires, Auxiliary members, and Sons of American Legion members thru out the state who enjoy motorcycle riding--and an ideal way to support The American Legion's programs.

Since motorcycle riding is becoming a popular free time and social activity, Posts and Departments can benefit from the growing popularity of The American Legion Riders (ALR) as a way to connect and communicate across the Nation.

As the membership of the ALR is a very diverse group, so are the programs that they are involved in. By allowing each American Legion Rider Chapter to give their members the ability to manage their programs at the Post level, the program has been allowed to grow. Today there exist nearly 100 Legion Rider programs in more than 32 states, and more are organizing each year. The types of things that these groups are doing are far too many to mention in this space, but here are a few examples: Participation in the annual POW/MIA Rally held each Memorial weekend in Washington D.C. known as "Rolling Thunder" Sponsoring or participating in local charity events in support of the sponsoring American Legion Post Raising money for such organizations as local VA Hospitals, Battered Women and Children's Center, Varied Children and Youth programs, a School for Blind Children, Veterans Relief, Needy families and many, many others Sponsoring or participating in motorcycle "Runs" to benefit numerous charities, including charities for underprivileged children and medical research, or the September 11 Legacy Scholarship Fund, just to name a few Participation in countless memorial ceremonies and community parades One group is even spearheading an effort to erect a "Veterans Memorial Park" in the center of their Downtown area Legion Riders are also an excellent tool to teach motorcycle and driver safety in the community and in schools. The recognition and acceptance of ALR groups by local communities has been remarkable. The American Legion Riders in Garden City, Michigan was even honored by the local city council, when they drafted a resolution declaring the American Legion Riders post as a valuable asset to the community.

Remember: Motorcyclists can be a very dedicated group of people. When they are also American Legion Family members, you create a win/win situation for your post and community!
