Note from submitter: I couldn't get enough way-points on the map to follow the written directions completely.

Scenery

You'll ride along Turtle Creek and cross several bridges including highway, railroad, and creek. Some ares are curvy some are strait some are hilly. You'll drive through country farm land (fields, and pastures) You'll see the longest, fully operational Five arch stone bridge in America, plus you'll drive over a Wooden bridge that crosses over rails.

Road Quality

Some curves and hills the road is mostly in good shape, but a few rough areas may exist. Watch for gravle along the road sides.

Roadside Amenities

All though a short ride hotels food and gas can be found at either end (Beloit, and Delavan) Shopiere has a bar with food, and the small town of Clinton is just south of the ride on state hwy140 were you can find food and gas.

I tried this route since it wasn't far from me. A very pleasant ride. I can't wait to take it again in the fall.

Was able to complete about half of this ride when we encountered the wooden bridge CLOSED. Rather than try to get around this we just ended this ride. Without a navigator this would have been an impossible ride to do as there are so many turns onto small, poorly marked roads. But nice country scenery, very low traffic, and some interesting small metal bridges to travel over.

Took this trip yesterday for a Saturday afternoon ride. We originally tried this ride a couple of years ago but did not finish it because of problems with the directions. We started the ride in Delevan and finished in Beloit. The name is a misnomer since if you only take the trip in one direction there are not 18 bridges.

The scenery is nice and the roads are good for any skill level of rider. There are a few curves but the roads are mostly straight until you come to a turn. Some of the roads do not have a street sign or the name does not match what is in the directions or the map.

There is nothing unique about most of the bridges. Two of the bridges are single lane with metal grating. The only really cool bridge was for a train and it was made of stone. One bridge, the one on E Creek, was closed two years ago and was still closed. This is either at the beginning or end of the ride depending on your starting point.

A great ride. We rode 9/30/12 colors were starting to change. Most of the roads were empty, some loose gravel especially Christie Rd. Don't miss the 5 arch rail bridge near Smith Rd like we did. Enjoy.
