Merritt Parkway north to Bridgeport, CT and cross the sound ferry to Port Jefferson, Long Island where your route starts. Rt. 25 East to Soundview Ave. to Greenport. North Ferry to Shelter Island. Rt. 114 South across Shelter Island to South Ferry. South Ferry to Sag Harbor to East Hampton. Rt. 27 to Montauk.
Scenery 
Truck-free roads, lush woods, peaceful water crossings, farms and vineyards, country estates all ending at spacious ocean beaches.
Road Quality 
Some hills, mostly flat, a few twisties, and one roller coaster at the end.
Roadside Amenities
Farmstands, camping, off-season shore hotels, best ocean fishing around, killer seafood.
