Motorcycle Road Length: 18 Miles

Written Directions

Starting in Barneveld, WI, take County Road T (north) and wind your way down the valley, (cross County Road H) still on T, wind your way up and over the ridge and back down-valley to State Highway 23. Turn right (north) on 23 and take it into Spring Green. Player's Pub is down town.

Scenery

This is the spectacular run through the un-glaciated hill country area of SW Wisconsin - riversstreams, forested valleys & ridges, backcountry that time forgot!

Road Quality

All paved, well maintained, but narrow and full of curves!

Roadside Amenities

Nothing in between: you'll think you have gone back in time! Spring Green has world-class amenities - resorts, hotels, restaurants, and several good taverns (my favorite - Players Pub).

Comment: Great area... I live about 20 minutes from barneveld. the route i always take to spring green is K north out of Barneveld, take a left on HH, then a right on H to hw 14. This is one of the most scenic routes imo. HH starts at the top of the ridge, then traverses down into a very narrow valley. Some of the rock formations on the side of HH are famous in this area. once in Spring Green, I like to take hwy 60 to Sauk, this is a great wide-open road that takes you through some great lowlands and farmland. from Sauk you can take 78 south. Before you reach black earth, take a right onto Olson Rd, right after the Wi Heights school. left on KP, the take F back to Blue mounds. This is also an absolutely beautiful route.

Comment: I must agree with many of the other reviewers. I Really enjoyed this ride... a bunch of curvy roads. Check out Hwy 19, Hwy 23, Hwy 60, Hwy 14, HWY 136 County roads T, K, HH, C, PF, C, M, Q, II, I. All were great and a lot of fun. If you want a place to stay check out Silverstar Inn Bed and Breakfast located in Spring Green. Place to eat check out the Old Feed Mill in Mazomanie... DO NOT eat at The Bank - it's not worth the money, however I will say that the history of The Bank is interesting so if you get a chance stop in and take a pictures. If you go the first weekend in Oct you may want to travel to Leland for the Slimy Crude Rally - it was fun to see all the bikes

Comment: Two popular tourist stops on or near route ... For architecture buffs, Taliesin (home of Frank Lloyd Wright) is on 23. For wacky museum full of more than you can ever imagine in an amazing building, House on the Rock is just 5 miles south on 23. Each is a pricey but highly memorable stop.

Comment: Good route but County T is very rough in some spots and a lot of deer at all hours. About 7 miles out take the Mill Rd. and check out the beautiful old Hyde Mill (bring your camera). Check out the local small general stores for beverage stops, eats and good atmosphere.

Comment: Recommend after you take a right (N) on Highway 23, follow into Spring Green. Cross the tracks, turn left , go two blocks - Players Pub is on your right!

Comment: I am a native of Wisconson and have been touring all over the state for the last 43 years. This has always been one of my all time favorite rides. Even though either end of this ride is an hour away from my house I make it a point to ride this road at least once a year.

Comment: My husband I spent 5 days driving all the backroads of SW Wisconsin in Sept. 07 and we took this route as well along with many, many others. Touring through all of SW Wisconsin is like being in another land. It is spectacular, beautiful, great, non-boring riding and scenary like no other in this part of the midwest. We would recommend this area to all riders for a day trip or for a weeks worth of cruising/touring. We found the mini Deal's Gap of the midwest in SW Wisc as well. Check it out!
