Route 2 starts in Alburg, VT. At the Rouses point(N.Y. VT.) bridge which can be found in the north western part of the state of VT one mile from the Canadian border. Simply take Route 2 south from Alburg down to Burlington, VT.

Overall, US Route 2 snakes through the lake Champlain Islands on scenic, well maintained roads. There is a vast amount to see and do along the 40-50 miles between Alburg and Burlington's World class scenery. This road cuts through the heart of historic Lake Champlain with the Green mountains on one side, and the Adirondacks on the other breathtaking!!!

Great day trip from Montreal Area and back. Leave early, have lunch in Burlington or in South Hero and be back Home for happy hour and dinner.

Ride from Michigan to NY for the Adirondacks. In 2013 we rode out to do this trip. Ended up riding the West shore of Champlain North towards Plattsburgh early one morning and it was as beautiful a ride as you could have with the sun coming up on your right over the lake and the fothills of the Adirondacks to the left.

Took this route last fall as part of a loop based out of Lake George. The scenery is beautiful, and the roads were in great shape. Plenty of places to stop on the way. Taking this ride in the fall is an added bonus. A stop at the Ausable Canyon on the way up was a plus, though it will cost you to get in. The trip back to Lake George included a trip through smuggler's notch, and supper at a wonderful bar-b-Que on Route 100. Highly recommended!
