Written Directions

Start at the Gray Ghost Inn West Dover VT 05356. North on 100 to a right on 30 into Townsend. In Townsend Left on Rt 35 take left on Grafton Rd 3.1 mile. Passing the farms and the Grafton Cheese Factory on Grafton Rd you will arrive in the town of Grafton ake a Righ on 121 Through Saxtons River Left on Rt 5 north in Bellows Falls. Left on Rt 11 Through Chester, Londonderry ad Peru into Manchester. Left on 7A south through Arlington and Shaftsbury Right on 67 Left on 67a through North Bennington R on 7 south towards MA. in MA take Left on 2 East in Williamstown to 100 north. In Wilmington VT Left on 9/100 Right on 100 North back to the Gray Ghost Inn

Scenery

Green Mountain National Forrest Scenic rt 11 with view Equinox Range. Dip in to the Berkshire mountains back up 100 through Southern Most tip of VT.

Road Quality

Over mountainous roads varying in elevation from river flats to elevation variation of give or take 400'. The road does have slight frost heave tarnish.

Roadside Amenities

More than 1/2 Dozen Biker friendly eateries, covered bridges, and antique stores. Outlet shopping in Manchester, VT including a great bookstore cafe.

Comment: Great Scenery , but awful road conditions. I have travelled over 60000 miles between Canada and the US, coast to coast, and Vermont and New Hampshire had some of the worst road conditions I have been on. Rough, broken, ridges - you have to watch the road more than the scenery.
