Written Directions

Starting in La Grange, TX head out of town on 159, North-East direction toward Round-Top. 159 eventually turns East, but stay straight instead of making the right turn and you'll be on 237 with takes you to Round Top. In Round Top make a right on to N Live Oak St, toward Shelby. After Shelby this road rejoins 159, go left on to 159 toward Industry and Bellville. 159 takes you right in to Bellville.

Scenery

About 60 miles northwest of Houston you'll find this ride traveling through some good rural scenery that has some amazing vistas to the North of the road between Shelby and Industry. I should have stopped to take a picture!

Road Quality

Some good curves, especially after Shelby heading East. The road has some small hills and the road condition is average to good and was clear of debris and gravel

Roadside Amenities

The refill/dining amenities are centered in the small towns, Round Top, Shelby, Industry, Bellville, with La Grange, Bellville and Round Top having the best selection of amenities. Lots of Antique shops in Round-Top Great food at Prause meat market (BBQ) in La Grange - 253 W Travis St.

Comment: Take side trips to Fayetteville, Industry and Cats Paw in the spring to see the wildflowers.

Comment: Nice little route with very little traffic. I didn't much care for the road surface but there are lots of hills and nice curves. Enjoyed going through Round Rock.

Comment: Wife and I took this ride last weekend. Enjoyed the trip, interesting scenery. Round Top has some good roads in the area and is interesting to see. Be sure to try the fudge at the country store.
