Written Directions

Start your route in the town of Monterey, TN (just off of I-40s Exit 301). Take highway 164 north through Hanging Limb, TN, Crawford, TN, and to Pine, TN. Here 164 will intersect route 85. Take 85 east all the way to Grimsley, TN.

Scenery

You will experience beautiful mountain views, waterfalls, wildlife, untouched wilderness.

Road Quality

Paved throughout ride, curves, curves, curves, corkscrews, switchbacks, up, down, around mountain sides and curves.

Roadside Amenities

Amenities at the beginning and the end ... nothing really in between.

Comment: This is one of our favorite rides. My wife Janet and I travel this route many times.It's great for any type of bike.This area has a very rich history from its coal mining past. ( If only the hills and hollers could talk! )

Comment: this is a great ride! the road gets real good when you get on hwy 85 to Grimsley. it's better for a sport rider...and be careful; some of the road conditions are hazardous. you could get in trouble real quick. so pay attention!
