Comment: Rode Highway 116 Oct 17. Great ride! Would like to do it again!! Road in good shape, not many pot holes. Steep climbs with switch backs. Don't get caught in to high of gear in the steep climbing switch backs.

Comment: Great ride. Road surface is not great in places and the trucks entering the highway are a concern, but I believe it was as tough as the Dragon. It was raining when we went over and a truck had gotton stuck in the curves. Outside of that, It was great. Someone needs to set up a shirt shop for sure!

Comment: V-Rider is Right--But to make it more interesting, go 62 north and take 116 thru Petros, Braytown,Rosedale, x the river near Stainville and left on to (gravel) Stoney Fork rd. (+/-3mi) to Sheam then Rt. on blacktop & SF/Norma rd. which turns into Tower rd. then into Mountain rd. and goes into Caryville Tn. which is at the foot of the mountain...
Have a good one...Tater...

Comment: Rode TN 116 on 7/20/08, north from Petros to Lake City. New pavement just past the prison for the first few miles, then a lot of patches on the N/B side. S/B lane looked pretty good, will try that next time. No place for the faint of heart, if you loose your concentration, you'll be off the side of the mountain.

Comment: Your written directions and map are not even close to the Hwy 116 / Brushy Mountain loop. The map you have shown is for Dutch Valley Rd. Not a bad ride through some pretty valley farmland, but is not the mountainous ride you described.
