Written Directions

This trip is very easy to explain. Just start in the town of Garfield, OH (near Salem, OH) and head north on Rt 534 all the way up to Geneva on-the-Lake.

Scenery

Great scenery small towns with great people. County with the most covered bridges in Ohio ... a camera is a necessity! Mike Tyson's old training camp is located on this ride.

Road Quality

All 2 lane roads but not much for turns. Scenery makes up for it.

Roadside Amenities

This trip is pretty straight riding all on 534. Lots of small towns and watering holes. Plenty of gas stations.

There is a nice hotel at 80 and 534 cross roads as I don't recommend staying at Geneva hotels. Plenty of things to do with the Geneva night life. Live bands are a summer attraction. Plenty of hotels, bars and good spots to eat. Camping if your so inclined.

Comment: Stop in Mesapotamia at the store at the end of the commons. Very interesting! Sept 8-22 is Thunder on the Strip in Geneva on the Lake. Nice "local" rally!

Comment: I live in Geneva, and have traveled most of this route as part of life. Everything here is right good, if you are looking for a nice place to stay close to GOTL take I 90 East from 534 just before Geneva, and go to the next exit, Austinburg SR 45. There are 3 good hotels, (sleep in, hampton inn, comfort in).

Comment: Great Ride and awesome views, but the road is starting to turn bad up in the Mesopatomia area. Be careful of payment groves parallel to the lanes. Dont get your tire stuck in them!! Downtown mesopatomia is a great place to stop and stretch at the cirlce. Cool picture of the wooden horse and buggy made out of old wood from the general store. All in all, great one day trip!

Comment: Nice ride up from the Twinsburg area. Traveled out from Twinsburg on route 82 and picked up 534 N. Nice, quite ride. Be on the lookout for horse and buggy. pretty straight riding with not many turns but it's ideal for a relaxing bike ride. Great ice cream stop in Mesopatomia

Comment: It was a beautiful day and caught 534 from SR5. Just very pleasant vast majority of the ride. Some serious grooves in the concrete road around Amish country but nothing major just surprising since the ride was so pleasant and uneventful. Was pretty amazing to see the vast patch of blue on the GPS when Lake Erie came into range. Be on your toes for horse drawn buggies.

Comment: Left from Ravenna, Sunday, Labor Day weekend. Very nice road for most of the way, a few mile section has been ground for new blacktop...not bad though a lot of fresh paving along the way. Plan at least an afternoon to walk the main drag and see the sights.

Comment: A Great Ride We did it on 90+ degree day and We hit Some of the Wineries along the way. However a lot of bad road conditions about half way there then we came back after dark to beat the heat and enjoy the cool air Ride
