Written Directions

Take Old 220 (North Fayetteville Street) north out of Asheboro and turn right onto Old Liberty Road... then just enjoy as you head northeast up to Liberty, NC.

Scenery

Just a nice refreshing little scenic jaunt through the countryside. Pastures and farmland a plenty.

Road Quality

Lots of elevation changes, twists and turns. A lot of the curves can sneak up on you and there are several 1 lane bridges along the route. A really fun motorcycle road!!

Roadside Amenities

Just a general store along the route but one end starts in Asheboro where there are plenty of amenities and it ends in Liberty where there are several nice little restaurants as well as a tavern that caters to bikers.

Comment: Im a passenger on our VTX Honda. We travel as much as the weather will allow. Old liberty road is a very nice travelling road. Beautiful countryside. We often make a stop at the "Homeland Creamery" and enjoy an Ice Cream Cone. Whenever you are in this area, ck it out. You will not be dissapointed!

Comment: I rode this today, and ride it often. I live just a few miles from the Liberty end and love to tear it up on a regular basis! There are quite a few potholes due to the recent winter weather but it's still a good road to get the heart pumping!

Comment: The best route is to start in Pittsboro, travel north on 87. Turn right on to Silk Hope Gom Springs Road, and travel to Liberty. Great rural countryside scenery. 2 gas stations along the way. Pick up Old Liberty Road in Liberty. Great Sunday afternoon ride

Comment: I live right in the area, and it's still one of my favorite spots to ride. Just do yourself a favor and cut back to 22 or use the back roads. 421 is the pits! Busted concrete slabs full of nasty pot holes. Ugh!
