Motorcycle Road Length: 34 Miles
Written Directions
Start in Lincolnton, NC heading west on route 27. Go around the courthouse staying on 27. Continue a few miles you'll see 182 to the left. Continue on 182 for approx. 23 miles. Continue onto W. Stage Coach Trail for 2.3 miles. After passing through Polkville, NC, turn right on to Old Lincolnton Rd. Continue straight whereby road changes to Jack Moore Mountain Rd. Turn left at Hollis Rd. Travel .5 miles and finally turn right onto Salem Church Road. There on the right find the country store.
Scenery

Quiet and tranquil scenery consisting of large farmland meadows, grain silos, old country estates and barns, shade trees run along road several spots. Expect seeing some sort of wildlife. Beware of occasional deer, turkey, raccoon possibly crossing your path or standing in a meadow.
Road Quality

Has it all! Straight-aways, mild curves, twisty curves, shallow and gentle hills. There are also several sections where large trees provide shaded cool road. Overall this is a pleasant peaceful, and excellent road for simple short cruise or a great road for breaking in that new motorcycle. Very little car traffic.
Roadside Amenities

Not much available when you first start out, but yes few gas stations, fast food places once going through Fallston and Polkville. Nice country store with food/gas at journey's end.

| Comment: The directions might be a little bit off at the end if the country store is the Washburn Store in the Washburn community. If that's the store referenced, then the directions should end with "continue to the end of Old Salem Ch Rd. to a 5-point intersection and Washburn Store is at the intersection on your left." It's a good ride but parts of it haven't been repaved recently and the asphalt is a little rough. | ||

| Comment: I rode this ride back in January. It was a really nice ride. There is some pretty country out there. I wouldn't make a special trip to this route, but if you are within 20 or 30 miles i would recommend the detour and ride it. Ride safe, and always keep two wheels down. | ||
