Motorcycle Road Length: 15 Miles

Written Directions

Start where RT 47 meets Rt 63 in Montague. Follow North Leverett Road east to Wyola Reservoir in Locks Village, MA. Turn south on Locks Pond Road and stay on this as it merges into Wendell Road and continues south into Shutesbury. When you get to the intersection near the Shutesbury Post Office turn right (west) onto Leverett Road and it will soon change names to Shutesbury road ... you will really enjoy the "S" curves!

Scenery

Very nice New England back roads with classic New England scenery including streams and lakes. You'll pass by Wyola Reservoir and end up at Leverett Pond. Overall, a very nice scenic drive!

Road Quality

The roads start off nice and just get nicer. You'll have good curves throughout this path but it really gets good when you get to Shutesbury Road. It has just been just re-paved and it is full of winding "S" curves. Beautiful for riding!

Roadside Amenities

Take this road for the scenery and "S" curves as it doesn't really have any roadside amenities to offer riders.

Comment: Don't pass this one up if you're in that area. Yes, the speed limit is 30, but really the curves are tight enough that you don't have to ride fast to enjoy them. I have never encountered much traffic on this road...the road doesn't really go "to"anywhere. Nor are there many houses on the twisty section...in fact, the curves follow the course of a winding trout stream, with mature forest on both sides of the road. Do ride it east to west, so that you are generally moving downhill along the river.

Comment: This is a very populated roadway, with the speed limit posted 25-30mph throughout. I ride tons of western mass road, but this is not one of them...I drive it frequently because I have friends who live on it. I would not recommend this due to high traffic and need to go slow.
