Written Directions

On the north west corner of Baltimore, off of I-695 (exit 23) you'll find State Route 25 or what's also known as Falls Road. Head north on 25/Falls Road and enjoy the great scenery. After about 18 miles, you'll want to turn right on Beckleysville Road and go through the Prettyboy Watershed Reservoir which is a thrill to ride through. There are several side roads you can take in the watershed that are beautiful. Look for the Prettyboy Dam Rd. for a spectacular view of the Prettyboy Dam (nice nature trail there). When you're done running around in Prettyboy, get back on Beckleysville Road and head east all the way over to Rt 45/York Road. Take Rt 45 south to Cockeysville at which point you will have made a 47 mile loop.

Scenery

Beautiful scenery, in the fall the colors are magnificent. Take your camera, wildlife abounds in Prettyboy Reservoir.

Roadside Amenities

In the Prettyboy Reservoir there are several side roads you can take that are beautiful. Look for the Prettyboy Dam Rd. for a spectacular view of the Prettyboy Dam and there is a nice nature trail there. This route is not too remote so you'll find gas stations and place to eat in the various towns you pass through.

Comment: This is my, need an hour of riding before dinner ride, but there's a better route. Stay off of 45...until Mt Carmel Rd, just run up 83.... York Road through Timonium is nasty with traffic and lights.... I prefer to run up Falls Rd, turn right onto Beckleysville, turn south onto Kidd Schoo which turns into Spooks Hill and winds nicely around the lake... stay righ onto PrettyBoy Dam Rd and stay right again when it says Falls road (not the same falls Road) Stay on Pretty Boy unti Yeaho (turn left) Stay right at the fork onto Dobbs right onto Benson and take that back to Falls Rd. The real one, it says 25 turn left... There's a nice tea/coffee shop at Tufton/Shawan/Falls light.
