Written Directions

Begin your run in the town of Green Forest and head west out of town on U.S. 62. About 1 mile later, you'll find Route 103 and you'll want to take a left on to it (heading due south). Now you just follow it about 11 miles until it ends at U.S. Highway 412, 3 miles south of Rudd, AR.

Scenery

This is a short ride but some beautiful country side.

Road Quality

This rides provides some great hills and gentle curves. With very little traffic this made for a enjoyable ride.

Roadside Amenities

This starts near Green Forest where Branson Wholesale is located. Great value on bikers leathers. I recently purchase a second pair of chaps.

The part of highway 103 that I want to talk about is the stretch from Oark to Clarksville. I have taken it several times over the past few years. You can connect with it via highway 215 from the Pig Trail (highway 23) just north of Cass. Highway 215 is a great little road too, but highway 103 is the showcase here. By the way if you are hungry (or not) stop in at the Oark General Store and Cafe (est. 1890) and visit the oldest operating store in Arkansas. Go south on Highway 103 toward Clarksville, it is a great ride through heavy forest and then you are treated with a great view of the river valley before dropping down off the mountain enjoying some hairpin curves along the way. It is a 20 mile ride with very little traffic and plenty of curves. By the way, the first time I rode it, I turned around and rode it back the other way. Either way it is great little stretch of road. Enjoy!

Hwy 103 is great, even north from Green Forest to Blue Eye. If you continue south to Kingston, AR, take Hwy 74 over to Huntsville (pig trail) for even more of the same type scenery, with very little traffic.

I live in Eureka Springs, Ar. and this ride is worth the effort. However, after hard or even moderate rains make sure that you are watching for gravel that washes onto the roadways from adjacent hills and driveways. This is a VERY big hazard on this run. Also, watch for deer.
Enjoy!
